Dhanush 155-mm artillery gun by the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) has been trial evaluated in plains at Pokhran, Babina and Leh high-altitude range with three guns at each location. There were two accidents with damage to Muzzle Brakes in May and July 2017, during the trials and Inquiry is under way to determine the cause of the incident. Investigative firing is likely to take place in early 2018. The Army has placed an initial order for 114 guns and is expected to order another 400 more. The bulk production will start after satisfactory trials.
