Jaguar Upgrade

The Indian Air Force is planning to upgrade the capabilities of the three decade old Jaguar aircrafts, currently powered by Rolls-Royce Adour 804/811 engines with new engines from Honeywell F-125IN, the deal worth over Rs 5,000 crore. Long awaited upgrade of approx 100 Jaguar is to be carried with Engine power about 1.5 times of the existing engines. The upgraded and re-engined Jaguar can serve the Air Force for a while, which has depleted strength of 32 squadrons with three squadrons of MiG-21 aircraft likely to be phased out by 2020.
